Presenting the project OPEN DOOR – specialized German in the region Pilsen

„We do not need our employees to learn to converse about family, weather or leasure time activities in language courses. We would appreciate if they learned to use the specialized language which they need and can use immediately in practice.“

Do these sentences sound familiar to you? Is the knowledge of genelar German not enough for you in your work life? Would you like to be able to communicate in German directly in your area of business? Do you want your employees to learn the vocabulary from their work specialization? Do you need German teachers able to teach professional specialized language of all levels which your employees could use in their line of business?

The answer to these requests is the educational project OPEN DOOR – specialized German in the region Pilsen which is implemented by Grafia Ltd. company. The project is financed by The European Social Fund and the state budget of the Czech Republic and it is one of the few projects in the Czech Republic which focuses on language education in enterprises.

The project OPEN DOOR – specialized German in the region Pilsen is aimed on the development of specialized German language education and is designated for German teachers and employees of the enterprises in the Pilsen region. The goal of the project is to increase the professional competences of German teachers and the language knowledge of employees according to the need of employers.

The initiative to create the project OPEN DOOR – specialized German in the region Pilsen, i.e. company courses of specialized German, has been the increasing demand for specialized language lessons. Based on the request from enterprises in the region Pilsen the needed areas of business were tested first and at the moment authors are making new language modules in cooperation with companies. Specialized textbooks, dictionaries, educational practical video and audio recordings, reminder cards and methodical handbooks for the teachers will arise. The e-learning version of all modules will be created too. These e-learning educational programmes can be used separately or as a support material to the classical presence courses. The newly created educational materials will be subsequently tested in pilot courses.

The project courses OPEN DOOR – specialized German in the region Pilsen focus mainly on communication and conversation and their goal is to practice real situations which can occur daily at a workplace. The emphasis is on developing specialized vocabulary and mastering phrases needed for a fluent communication.

The project OPEN DOOR – specialized German in the region Pilsen uses the proven methodology of company education which Grafia Ltd. created in 2008. It also innovatively works with requests of companies and new educational methods.

Thanks to the project the employability of German teachers, who will be able to teach higher levels of the language effectively, will increase.
