Epitome - E-learning Promoting the Integration of Migrant Workers
Brief description of the project:
The project is focused on promoting the integration of migrant workers.
Description of the project:
The two-year project Leonardo da Vinci started in October 2006 and lasted until September 2008. Six member states were participating: Czech Republic, France, Germany, Latvia, Poland and Great Britain.
This project addressed issues around the training of lower skilled actual and potential migrant workers in the hospitality and food and drink manufacturing sectors to ensure all employees are fully integrated into the workplace especially in terms of work conditions and cultural practices.
The partners of Epitome that represent the member states highlighted the importance of emigration and immigration, especially in such cases like Poland, where is quite a high emigration to Germany as well as immigration from Germany. Most of these workers have low education and very little knowledge about other member states.
